Crystal Jennings

For the past 2 years, we have all been keenly aware of the passing of time. On occasion one week has stretched into infinity while an entire season has gone by fleetingly, making it difficult to discern what events happened when. My charcoal drawings are referenced from a single instance, forever put down on paper in much more than just a photograph. With Passage, my wish is to invoke feelings of curiosity about the moments of time captured in my drawings so the viewer creates their own narrative to accompany the image.

Biography

Crystal Jennings was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  She graduated from Columbia College Chicago, receiving a BFA in Art and Design.  Crystal is primarily a charcoal artist with her work focusing on figurative realism with a touch of the unreal.  She currently lives in Rison, Arkansas with her supportive husband and daughters.
