Overview

Dan Holland lives on the Central California coast in Arroyo Grande. He and his wife Louise moved to California from Denton, Texas in 1987 where they met at North Texas State University (Dan graduated in Computer Science). They gradually moved up the coast, from Long Beach to Santa Barbara and finally to A.G. (near San Luis Obispo) about 20 years ago.

Dan is a self-taught artist and paints abstract works based upon realistic scenes. His influences vary from San Francisco city scenes to Central Coast locales. He loves to include people on the street and also finds inspiration in seemingly mundane items such as notes from his work at Diablo Canyon, a nuclear power plant, where Dan works as a Database Administrator.
