Remus and Romulus, the founders of Rome in Roman mythology. The twins were ordered to be killed by King Amulius. The servant who was to carry out the order took pity on the twins and placed them in a basket on the river Tiber. The basket caught on fig tree at the base of Palatine hill and was discovered by a she-wolf who raised them until a shepherd and wife found them.
